Dogs do aerobics
When we're not busy running the world and making music, we dogs like to take a bit of time to keep fit. Being healthy is very important when you're a dog, because nobody likes a fat dog! That's why every dog is either a member of a gym or a running club. And what is our favourite way of keeping fit? Why, aerobics of course. Why don't you try some of these doggy moves at home?
This
is known as the 'stretch and leap'. It's very good for extending and
strengthening the muscles in the back and forepaws. It's also lots of fun!
This
is a move adapted from yoga - it's called 'hanging tree', and requires a strip
of old bed-sheet and a tree. But don't worry, if you don't have a tree handy,
you can always use a football goalpost, or even the arm of a tall person!
This
is a classic move known as 'radiator leap'. All you have to do is jump over an
old radiator - but make sure you keep your hind legs tucked in so you don't bash
them.
And
this is my personal favourite. It's called 'reach for the moon', and the best
place to do this is in a park. You just have to wait for some silly people to
start playing Frisbee, and then leap up and steal the Frisbee, taking them all
by surprise!
Remember
folks, it's very important to stay properly hydrated when you're doing lots of
exercise, so drink lots of water, like I do.
And
don't forget to have a bath when you're done! You don't want to be a stinky dog!
